FREEDIVING
Freediving is an advanced form of snorkeling and breath-holding.
This activity is open to individuals recreationally or competitively.
Early coastal dwellers relied on freediving to provide sustenance for
food or trade. Since the release of films like The Big Blue and Into
the Blue, Freediving has gained in popularity and acclaim. Records
are being set and broken every season.
My goal is to introduce you to some simple techniques and
practices to help you advance your skills and abilities in the
underwater realm. Not only will I provide some new knowledge of
the sport to you, I will also be there as a safety aide in your
training. As with any physical activity there are some inherent risks.
I will help you understand and be able to deal with these risks while
we are in the water. Safety first and fun forever.
I offer both Freediving clinics and freediving
practice sessions. The clinic is designed to take
you from recreational snorkeling into the
underwater realm of freediving. The majority of
the people who chose this option find that they can
dive down twice as deep as they could before and
are able to hold their breath almost twice as long.
So if you are diving down to say 30 feet or so;
after the clinic you should be able to dive down to
60 feet or better. The freediving practice session
is designed to offer you a safe and monitored
environment for you to further your existing skills.
All of the dives are supervised by a professionally
trained freediver and dive instructor. Safety
surface platform and down lines are always in use.
Obsession freediving would love to take you
deeper.
